"Colby" Bounces Back!

Many well-wishers from across the country wanted to know how Colby is doing …

In the words of Northrup Larson:

Colby seems fine, she is bouncing around like a puppy, I am on my way home and to the University of Missouri to find out what happened. Thanks for all the support and caring calls – I will let everyone know how things turn out. We are all fierce competitors against each other until something goes wrong and then we’re family that rallies and supports you and your dog. THANKS! The retriever community was fantastic with their support in medical and emergency help. And also all the caring support from the retriever community was great. Thanks
Northrup

Colby retrieved her flyer and went out for her second mark and collapsed. She was brought immediately to Dr. Jenell Appel at the Sports Vet Unit on the grounds.

How fortunate we are to have such a facility as this available for our sport …

Colby and Northrup came to the line at 12:07 pm

Water Blind - Two whistles up front got Colby in line to enter the center of the entry channel. She swam to the peninsula and exited. One cast got her back into the water and on his way to the island. Several whistles kept her on the line and got her on to the island. One whistle and cast got her of the island and across to exit at the far corner of the pond. Colby ran up the hill and a final left cast got her to the bird.
