Ripley targeted the initial entry into the channel right of the center. Two whistles early in the channel got him on the peninsula and one to get him off. He swam straight to the island on line, crossed it and went to the far peninsula. The cast off the peninsula carried it through the water to the exit point. One more cast halfway up the field sent Ripley to get his bird.
