Everyone gathered at the Douglas County Fairgrounds for a night of celebration for the dogs with their friends; old and
new. The drinks and food flowed freely as folks hovered around the silent auction table checking out the multitude of items given to the club by our generous
donors. Eric Gawthorpe was the Emcee of the evening working the crowd selling
pages from the NARC catalog for the traditional Calcutta. The raffle sold
tickets for two prizes: the 20 gauge Beretta semi-automatic and the Columbia
Whitetail Hunt. The winners of those fabulous prizes will be chosen at the Workers’ Party on Tuesday night.
The food was trays or beautifully arranged cheese, veggies,
cold cuts , meatballs, shrimp and prime rib sandwiches. We all had plenty to
eat and drink and enjoyed catching up with old friends and meeting some new
ones …
